WOMBATS FIND A WARM POUCH
AT KOBALT
11/29/17

Kobalt has inked a worldwide publishing and recordings deal with hit U.K. band The Wombats. It's the band's first indie pact; the group's 2015 set not only hit the Top 5 in Blighty but made some chart noise Stateside. Expect their new set, Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life, on 2/9/18. They'll also be touring in North America early next year and will return in the summer to support of Weezer and The Pixies. You can check out their new clip, "Lemon to a Knife Fight," below.

"We are all very excited about the new Wombats record," gushed Kobalt Music Recordings prez Paul Hitchman. "It may just be the best of their career so far and we are proud that the band and their team chose Kobalt as their partner for their first independent release."

Proclaimed Nick Robinson, Kobalt's SVP Business Development, Creative: “The band’s songwriting has reached new heights on the brilliant upcoming album which is again full of their trademark infectious melodies, hooks and wry lyrical observations. The whole global Kobalt team is very excited to be a part of this next stage of the band’s career.”

In a related story, wry lyrical observations are needed in greater supply in the United States.
