SPOTIFY'S SECRET GENIUS AWARDS: WRITERS, PRODUCERS, TROPHIES

J Kash, Max Martin, Starrah, Greg Kurstin, Mike Elizondo, PARTYNEXTDOOR and Sebastian Kole were among the winners at Spotify's first-ever Secret Genius Awards ceremony in downtown L.A. on 11/1.

The event, hosted by Lizzo, honored the songwriters and producers behind the streamery's biggest songs. Performers included Shawn Mendes (joined by collaborators Teddy Geiger and Scott Harris) Halsey (with Kurstin) and "Despacito" co-writer Erika Ender, who led an acoustic sing-along of that blockbuster.

J Kash was named Secret Genius of the Year: Songwriter and received his trophy from Babyface, while Martin—pictured at right with Spotify's Troy Carter—took the corresponding award for Producer (presented by Quincy Jones). Starrah's two wins were for Secret Genius of the Year: Female and Secret Genius: Hip Hop. Kurstin got the pop win.

Rick Rubin was named Legendary Genius, with Frank Ocean presenting him with the honor.
