BIG DEAL WRITERS ON THE HITS
8/31/17

Big Deal is hoisting a hearty glass of burgundy as its songwriters see their work at the top of multiple charts. Let's start with the #1 song at Country radio, Old Dominion's "No Such Thing as a Broken Heart" (RCA Nashville). That smash was co-written by the band's Brad Tursi, who also had a hand in Luke Bryan's "Light It Up" (Capitol Nashville).

Teddy Geiger co-wrote and produced the monster "There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back" by Island's Shawn Mendes, recently #1 at Pop and a constant seller and streamer.

Meanwhile, co-writers John Ryan and Julian Bunetta are making waves with tunes by two former One Directioners, Columbia's Harry Styles ("Two Ghosts," just starting at radio) and Capitol's Niall Horan ("Slow Hands," a perennial seller that's now Top 5 at Pop). Bunetta also co-penned Thomas Rhett's "Craving You" featuring Maren Morris (Valory/BMLG), another Country #1.

Kenny MacPherson, Mark Tindle and team say: Haggis for all!
