Warner/Chappell was named Music Publisher of the Year at last night's BMI Pop Awards.
Overall, Warner/Chappell songwriters walked away with 17 awards, including Ross Golan with four, Julia Michaels with three and Tyler Joseph (of twenty one pilots) with two.
The company's Justin Tranter and Ross Golan both took home gongs for Songwriter of the Year. It's worth noting that Tranter has writing credits on four of the award-winning songs: “Cake By the Ocean,” “Close,” "Hands to Myself" and "Sorry."
“Warner/Chappell is built around putting songwriters first in everything we do, and being recognized as Publisher of the Year is a tremendous honor and confirmation of our efforts," shared Chairman and CEO Jon Platt (pictured). "We're so proud of Justin Tranter and Ross Golan, who won 2017 Songwriter of the Year, and all of our winners tonight.”
