MEGHAN SCORES ANOTHER #1
4/10/17

Meghan Trainor's splashy success as a pop artist, as many of you already know, followed several years of under-the-radar progress as a Nashville tunesmith. Inked to the boutique pubco Big Yellow Dog, Trainor penned songs for an array of artists, and she's now got her second Country radio #1 with Lauren Alaina's "Road Less Traveled," which she co-wrote with Alaina and Jesse Frasure.

Her prior #1 at the format was Rascal Flatts' "I Like the Sound of That," back in 2015. In addition to her smashes as an artist, Trainor has crafted pop material for Fifth Harmony, Jennifer Lopez, Little Mix, DJ Khaled, Michael Bublé, Jason Derulo and other acts.

"Meghan's ability to continue to write for others is a reflection of the depth of her writing abilities," says Big Yellow Dog Music co-owner Carla Wallace. "I love that Meghan wrote 'Road Less Traveled' with two of her Nashville friends, Lauren and Jesse Frasure. This makes her second No. 1 with Jesse. I also love that this song embodies Meghan's natural ability to empower girls!"

Meanwhile, Trainor has a new tune, "I'm a Lady," in Smurfs: The Lost Village, which opened Friday. She also voices a character called SmurfMelody in the film, because of course she does.
