UMPG will be toasting a #1 chart bow by writer Future this week (via A1/Freebandz/Epic), with another #1 likely for the artist’s follow-up next week. The pubco’s Metro Boomin also contributed to Future’s new trove of tunes. The House of Jody is also celebrating the explosive success of Migos, who recently inked with Capitol on the label side. These victories follow the #1 debut for Big Sean (G.O.O.D./Def Jam), among other wins.
On the other end of the musical spectrum, UMPG writer Sam Hunt has another smash with “Body Like a Back Road,” and the pubco sees ACM nominations for Keith Urban (seven nods), Lori McKenna (Song of the Year for Tim McGraw’s “Humble & Kind”), Luke Laird (Songwriter of the Year), Kane Brown (New Male Vocalist) Bill Satcher of A Thousand Horses (Best New Duo or Group). Drinks are on Kent Earls.
