BMG has placed its production music services under a single banner, BMG Production Music, with offices in L.A., Nashville, London, Hilversum and Berlin.
BMG has been involved in production and custom music services for the film, broadcast, games, corporate film and advertising markets since it acquired Selectracks in 2011. They acquired MusicDIRECTOR, an intuitive online music search platform in the Benelux production music business and L.A.-based Music Beyond and trailer label X-Ray Dog in 2014, and last year, bought the London-based specialist in radio-specific sound beds and idents Beds & Beats, TV/ advertising specialist Altitude Music and trailer boutique Must Save Jane.
BMG also represents many premium sub-published catalogs from around the world, including through its alliance with U.K.-based Music Hub.
“BMG Production Music stands for a new approach, combining the creative integrity of high-end catalog, creative and custom scoring services, with BMG’s next generation global infrastructure,” said Mitch Lijewski, the L.A.-based SVP, Production Music.
BMG Production Music has scoring studios in L.A. and London, global creative teams for music searching and project supervision, and an internationally curated catalog accessible online, consisting of around 400,000 tracks spanning all genres. Managing Director Geert-Willem Koolhof (pictured) oversees the company, which has three regional heads—Lijewski (U.S.), Farah Hasan (U.K.) and Paul Gulmans (Benelux & Germany).
“Bringing our extensive production music interests together under the BMG Production Music banner symbolizes the importance of production music within BMG, and signals our commitment to this growing sector,” BMG CFO Maximillian Dressendoerfer said.
