SIGNS OF GREATNESS
9/12/16

"Yo, Jody, am I doing this right?" asks chart-topping artist Travis Scott of UMPG topper Jody Gerson during this festive photo op to commemorate his worldwide deal with the pubco. She confirmed that he had indeed thrown the Uni sign correctly. Scott, whose Epic set Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight hit #1 on our Sales Plus Streaming (SPS) chart last week, has also worked with Drake, Jay Z, Kanye West, Future and other top stars in the genre. "I’ve been chasing Travis Scott for years. His talent and ambitions are limitless. He’s a rock star, as well as being a brilliant writer/producer,” Gerson proclaimed. Later, Evan Lamberg popped in to freestyle a few verses about streaming rights in Benelux.

In a related story, the HITS 30th Anniversary Issue, hitting desks now, features a pictorial called "The Secret History of Hip-Hop." This photo certainly belongs in a future installment.
