There are some exciting new tracks landing on desks as we kick off the new year. It looks like 2022 is going to be a year of big hits from not only established acts, but newly inked and unsigned talent as well. This is something that’s not only good for radio, but good for all of us in the music space as we eagerly await the next big thing.

Speaking of big things, Columbia’s Gray, Burruss, Bedard, Stevens & Brenner are looking to keep their very successful Top 40 run going with new music this week from The Chainsmokers. Look for it to be Most Added out of the box upon release. Lil Nas X’s “THAT’S WHAT I WANT” is now Top 5 bound with Power Research coming in strong in major markets, while Chlöe’s “Have Mercy” (Parkwood) is set to join the Top 20 with new increases at Y100, Power Custom and Townsquare.

Over at Arista, Team Petropoulos has officially charted Emmy Meli’s “I AM WOMAN” just one week after its official impact date. It’s currently Top 30 and pulling in new airplay this week from KZHT, KENZ, B96 and WBZZ.

Virgin’s Halpern & Applegate have put 160 stations on ACRAZE’s “Do It to It” f/Cherish (Thrive Music) as it continues to grow. Headed toward the Top 15 at radio, it’s also nearing the Top 15 on the Global Spotify chart and sits at #2 on Shazam’s Global Top 200. Audacy’s Erik Bradley says, “This started viral and now has crossed all the way over to the mainstream. It’s been a very solid performer for us in all our key metrics from the first play!”

Republic’s Spangler & Romeo took the top honor on the chart this week as Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves” claimed the #1 spot 81 weeks after its release! It currently has 1b+ streams on Spotify alone and remains in the Top 5 on both the Global and U.S. weekly charts as well as #1 on the Top 50 Global. Post Malone & The Weeknd’s collaboration “One Right Now” is climbing toward the Top 10 as Z100 and WXKS move to Power Rotation, while Taylor Swift’s “Message in a Bottle (Taylor’s Version)” joins the Top 15. Also making moves is The Weeknd’s “Sacrifice” (XO), which has been the #1 Greatest Gainer and #1 Most Added since it officially impacted. Swedish House Mafia’s “Moth to a Flame” f/The Weeknd is now Top 20 and boasts 32m video views.

Warner’s Chester, Dyer & Reich put indie-alt rockers’ The Walters back in the Top 10 Most Added column for the second consecutive week with their viral track “I Love You So.” There are 55+ stations on board including WKSC, KHKS, HITS1 and KKRZ. Benson Boone’s debut single “GHOST TOWN” is Top 25 and spin leaders on this one include Music Choice, KUDD, WZPL and HITS1.

RCA’s Rothschild, Maldonado, JR & Daddio have Doja Cat’s “Need to Know” poised to take over the #1 spot on the chart this week just as “Woman” looks to join the Top 15. Meanwhile Latto’s “Big Energy” pulled in another 21 adds including B96, WNKS and KMXV as it moves Top 25. SZA’s “I Hate U” (TDE) has charted with 50+ early stations.

Capitol’s Marella, Nolletti, Acampora & Siciliano put 23 more adds on Alesso & Katy Perry's "When I'm Gone," landing it in the Top 3 Most Added spot just as it joins the Top 30 this week.

Interscope’s Romano & Lopes stacked another 8 adds on Juice WRLD’s “Wandered to LA” f/Justin Bieber as it moves toward the Top 30. Airplay support on this one includes KYLD, KZZP and WPOI. And just one week before official impact at Top 40, Imagine Dragons’ “Enemy” f/JID, Arcane & League of Legends posted 20 early adds. It was among the Top 5 Most Added tracks and is also in the Top 10 on Shazam’s Global Top 200, coming in at #7.

Epic’s Sackheim, Afloarei & Dimig continue to build the story on GIVĒON’s “For Tonight” (Not So Fast). It’s currently in the Top 20 and climbing with almost 150 stations on board.

Def Jam’s Farag & Sheer have Justin Bieber’s “Ghost” heading toward the Top 5 with a closed-out panel. It saw big spin increases this week from WBLI, WRVW, WEZB and WZFT.

In2une’s Connone & Lucek had the #2 Most Added track again this week with unsigned Lauren Spencer-Smith’s “Fingers Crossed,” which was added to playlists like Spotify’s Today’s Top Hits and Pop Rising upon release. As the bidding continues, new airplay is coming in from stations like WBBM, WWPW, KBKS and WKQI. Meanwhile, THE ANXIETY, WILLOW & Tyler Cole’s “Meet Me at Our Spot” is making its way toward the Top 10 with an all-but-closed-out panel. Set to join the Top 25 at Pop after peaking at #1 on both the Rhythm and Urban charts is Blxst’s “Chosen” f/Tyga & Ty Dolla $ign (Evgle). New adds on this include KYLD and KLUC.
