iHEART CONNECTICUT TAPS JOEY B

iHeartMedia has announced that Joey Brooks has been named SVP Programming for the Hartford and New Haven marktets, effective 10/1. iHeartMedia Connecticut encompasses over nine stations comprised of music, talk and new formats, including broadcast and digital.

As SVP, Programming, Brooks will be responsible for the development of local programming strategies, including overseeing on-air content, digital strategy, music programming and on-air talent. He will report to Steve Honeycomb, President iHeartMedia, Hartford Region.

“Joey’s experience of leadership, drive and passion for radio will be an amazing addition to our iHeartMedia teams in Hartford and New Haven,” Honeycomb said. “There is no doubt that Joey will take our nine market-leading radio brands to the next level as we continue to provide the best entertainment for our listeners.”

Brooks joins the iHeartMedia Connecticut market from iHeartMedia Miami, where he served as PD for 939 MIA, Variety From the 80s, 90s and Today! and Assistant PD for Y100, Miami’s #1 Hit Music Station. He also served as the Music Director for CHUM Toronto from 2009-2012, Assistant PD at iHeart’s WIOQ (Q102) Philadelphia from 2006-2009, and started his career as Air Personality for iHeart’s KISS 108 Boston in 2001. In Hartford, he worked at WKSS (KISS 95.7) serving as Assistant PD, Music Director, and Air Personality from 2002-2006.
