Snowmageddon 2017 …. Probably the best meme I have seen is the one where you create a treasure hunt by putting beers on your driveway prior to snowfall. When you shovel, you find treasure! Guess you learn to be creative when you have so much snow to shovel!
Republic’s CW, Spangler & Russell are impacting Nicki Minaj’s “Regret In Your Tears” this week and already spinning are WXSS, WBMP and KMVQ. ZAYN/Taylor Swift’s “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” (UStudios/RCA) is making the push to #1 this week. It’s Top 5 U.S. Consumption at BuzzAngle, Top 5 on iTunes and Top 10 on U.S. Shazam. The Weeknd f/Daft Punk’s “I Feel It Coming” (XO) is #4 MediaBase this week and moved to Power Rotation at KVIL, KHFI, Z100 and WXXL. Shawn Mendes’ “Mercy” (Island) moves up another notch inside the Top 10 this week and Power Callout around the country. Lorde’s “Greenlight” (Lava) was the week’s Greatest Gainer and not only charted week one, it climbed Top 25. Marian Hill’s “Down” (Photo Finish) is set to join the Top 10 and has all but closed out the panel—it is also #1 U.S. Shazam! Julia Michaels’ “Issues” is now Top 15 on MB, Top 15 on U.S. Spotify and #9 U.S. Shazam. Ariana Grande f/Future’s “Everyday” moves closer to Top 15 this week scoring new airplay from KTFM and WKTU.
RECORDS’ John Strazza moves Noah Cyrus f/Labrinth’s “Make Me (Cry)” up to #19 this week at Pop and debuts on the Hot AC chart as well. The single is now certified gold; Noah will be performing on Ellen this week.
Columbia’s Leipsner, Borris & Vaughan move The Chainsmokers’ “Paris” (Disruptor) Top 5 this week and have closed out the panel on their way to the top of the chart. The Chainsmokers & Coldplay’s “Something Just Like This” is one of the week’s Greatest Gainers again and jumps up to #17. James Arthur’s “Say You Won’t Let Go” pulled in new airplay from WKSC, WFLC and KKRZ this week and is set to join the Top 20. Charting this week and landing at #29 is Calvin Harris f/Frank Ocean & Migos’ “Slide.” Also charting this week is Train’s “Play That Song” with 50+ stations on board, among them WZPL, WWMX and HITS1. Little Mix’ “Touch” is bubbling just under and looking to chart with new airplay from WAKS, WXXL and WPRO.
Warner Bros.’ Gray, Dyer, Reich & Shih have Linkin Park f/Kiiara’s “Heavy” Top 20 and climbing with 170+ stations on board. PARTYNEXTDOOR’s “Not Nice” (OVO) is set to join the Top 30, there are nearly 14m views on YouTube and 57m Spotify streams. Jason Derulo f/Nicki Minaj & Ty Dolla $ign’s “Swalla” pulled in 47 new adds including HITS1, WBBM and WDZH.
RCA’s Riccitelli, JR, Daddio & Cooper were Most Added at Pop this week with Stargate f/P!nk & Sia’s “Waterfall” which scored 41 adds on impact including B96, Z100 & WODS. Martin Garrix & Dua Lipa’s “Scared to be Lonely” is now Top 30 with new airplay from WWPW, WBLI and Music Choice. SnakeHips & Mo’s “Don’t Leave” has more than 70m Spotify streams and moved closer to the chart this week, pulling in adds from KIIS, WIOQ and WXKS.
Hollywood’s Finck, Smith & Ennis have Sabrina Carpenter’s “Thumbs” on more than 150 stations and moving inside the Top 30 with new adds at HITS1, WAKS and WSSX. Sabrina is also one of BuzzFeed’s New Artists to Watch. Ocean Park Standoff’s “Good News” is new at WWMX, WKST and WNCI with 3.3m streams on Spotify.
Epic’s Team Glassman continues to move the needle on Starley’s “Call on Me” which moves up to #22 this week with 285m+ streams to date. Zara Larsson f/Ty Dollar $ign’s “So Good” moves to #34 and is on 80+ stations; there are 14m video views. DJ Khaled f/Beyonce & Jay Z’s “Shining” (We The Best) charted this week and is Top 10 at both Rhythm and Urban. Future f/Rihanna’s “Selfish” (A1/Freebandz) took a huge jump this week after pulling in adds from WBMP, KMVQ, WKQI & KEGY. Future just announced a massive tour.
Capitol’s Marella, Rainey & Siciliano have moved Katy Perry’s “Chained to the Rhythm” Top 10 this week. With a closed out panel it’s one of the week’s Greatest Gainers, #4 on BuzzAngle, #4 Future Hits Shazam and #4 on the Pop iTunes chart. Oh and … then there are those cool glasses that can be seen on the faces of PDs all over social media.
Def Jam’s Sackheim, Rothchild & Farag pulled in big new airplay this week from WXXL, WITH and WFLZ on Big Sean’s “Bounce Back” (G.O.O.D.) which moves inside the Top 25 with 115+ adds on board. Rihanna’s “Love on The Brain” (Westbury Road/Roc Nation) #3 on MB, continues to grow spins and remains Top 10 on Shazam; it is also #14 on the Top Pop Songs Chart on iTunes. Axwell ^ Ingrosso f/Kid Ink’s “I Love You” is getting ready to chart after being in the Top 10 Most Added for three weeks. New adds include WNOW, WZPL and WKQI.
