As every major label begins to push out their new releases for 2017, we have already had our first “clearing of the panel” and are getting set for the next one.
Let’s start with the job that Columbia’s Leipsner, Borris & Vaughan did on The Chainsmokers’ “Paris” (Disruptor). They “cleared the panel” week one and it posted at #26 just a few days after release … not a bad week. Adele’s “Water Under the Bridge” (XL) and John Legend’s “Love Me Now” continue to grow spins inside the Top 20, and both have strong streams and sales numbers.
Caroline’s Saturn, Halpern & Holman continue to grow the numbers on Hey Violet’s “Guys My Age” (5Mode). They also just announced a new tour and picked up new airplay at WFLC, KCHZ and big spin increases from WXSS, WKQI and KHTS.
RCA’s Riccitelli, JR, Daddio & Cooper are making lots of noise out of the box on Lost Kings f/Emily Warren’s “Phone Down” with tons of majors already lining up like WDZH, WKSC, WBMP and KEGY look for this one to chart soon. G-Eazy f/Marc Bassy’s “Some Kind Of Drug” charted this week and built a strong list of majors including KIIS, KDWB and B96. Britney Spears f/Tinashe’s “Slumber Party” is on 100+ stations and picked up new airplay this week from KROI and KDND.
RECORDS’ John Strazza has Noah Cyrus f/Labrinth’s “Make Me (Cry)” firing on all cylinders, moving up to #34 this week with big support from majors including KIIS, KHKS, KKRZ and WWPW. With 130+ stations on board, this one is on the fast track.
Warner Bros.’ Gray, Dyer, Reich & Shih impacted PARTYNEXTDOOR’s “Not Nice” (OVO) with early support coming in from KAMP, WODS and WPOW to name a few of the 40 stations on board. They were also busy pulling in five new adds on BeBe Rexha’s “I Got You,” which is set to join the Top 20, and Lukas Graham’s “You’re Not There,” which is Top 30.
Mom + Pop’s David Jacobs continues the great job on Flume f/Tove Lo’s “Say It,” which climbed inside the Top 30 and pulled in new adds from WFLZ, KZHT and WXXL.
Def Jam’s Sackheim, Rothchild & Farag looked poised to have the next #1 with Alessia Cara’s “Scars To Your Beautiful” which picked up steam after the holiday break and climbs to #2 this week; it is also still Top 10 Shazam. Rihanna’s “ Love On The Brain” (Westbury Road/Roc Nation) is Top 10, #5 U.S. Shazam and #10 on the Top Pop Songs chart. Next up is Big Sean’s “Bounce Back” (G.O.O.D.) which is already picking up some nice call letters, KYLD, KMVQ and WXSS just to name a few.
Hollywood’s Finck, Smith & Ennis have launched Sabrina Carpenter’s “Thumbs,” placing it in the Top 10 Most Added this week with WIOQ, WNCI and KNOU adding to the 50+ stations on board already.
Epic’s Team Glassman continue to stack up adds on Starley’s “ Call On Me,” currently with 50+ stations on board; it was the Most Added on Impact and is now the #12 Most Streamed track in the world. DJ Khaled’s “Do You Mind” (We The Best) pulled in Y100 and KRBE this week and is now Top 30 with 90m video views to date. Captain Cuts’ “Love Like We Used To” is now on 80+ stations including KDIS, WHQC and KUDD and is chartbound.
Capitol’s Marella, Rainey, Youngblood & Siciliano continue to grow support on Niall Horan’s “This Town” which is thisclose to closing out the panel and set to join the Top 10; it is also still Top 10 Shazam. John Bellion’s “All Time Low” is Top 15 with 100 stations on board and is starting the 2017 tour support this week for Twenty One Pilots. Charting this week was Calum Scott’s “Dancing On My Own” with big support coming in early from WIOQ, WWMX, KVIL and KSLZ.
Republic’s CW, Spangler & Russell as always have a ton of music in play …. ZAYN/Taylor Swift’s “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” (UStudios/BMR/RCA) is currently Top 10 and climbing, while The Weeknd f/Daft Punk’s “I Feel It Coming” (XO) is sitting at #12 set to join the Top 10 very soon. Shawn Mendes’ “Mercy” (Island) continues to climb and should join the Top 15 soon, earning big spin increases this week from WNCI, KYLD and KALV. Drake’s “Fake Love” (YMCMB) scored new adds this week from KCHZ, WDJX and WNOK; look for it to join the Top 20 next week.
