NOW WHAT?
We have no fucking idea.
COUNTRY'S NEWEST DISRUPTOR
Three chords and some truth you may not be ready for.
AI IS ALREADY EATING YOUR LUNCH
The kids can tell the difference... for now.
WHO'S BUYING THE DRINKS?
That's what we'd like to know.

Ok, I’ll admit it… I leaked the bracket! I mean, if the committee can put teams in before the conference finals are over, why can’t I start filling out my bracket early? Makes sense to me.
And on the topic of coming out of the gate running, Epic’s Team Glassman has been doing a lot of that lately. Zara Larsson & MNEK’s “Never Forget You” is now Top 15 in airplay, Top 15 on iTunes and the third Most Shazamed record in the country. Meanwhile, Fifth Harmony f/Ty Dolla $ign’s “Work From Home” (SYCO) is now Top 20, #13 on iTunes and #11 on Shazam’s USA Top 100, and Meghan Trainor’s “NO,” which impacted and went Top 20, was the #1 Greatest Gainer last week with 3500+ spins and is currently #2 on iTunes with a #14 debut at Shazam. Not a bad streak! And Yo Gotti’s “Down in the DM” is crossing from Rhythm, where it’s currently Top 5; KTFM, WODS, KAMP and WPOW are all early believers. Next up is Transviolet’s “New Bohemia.”
Def Jam’s Sackheim, Rothschild & Farag have moved Rihanna f/Drake’s “Work” (Westbury Road/Roc Nation) Top 10 and have all but cleared the T40 panel on this one, as it goes #1 at Rhythm and Urban. Alessia Cara’s “Wild Things” moves Top 25 with 165+ stations on board, and new RTM has it Top 10 with females 18-24, 18-34 and 25-34. Watch that one, as it starts to explode. Justin Bieber’s “Company” (RBMG) is already Top 25 with 150+ stations on board after two weeks and looks like it too is heading to #1. Jeremih’s “Oui” is crossing over from Rhythm; early believers include B97, KHTS, KBFF and KTFM. Also, be sure to look out, because here comes Iggy!
Mom+Pop’s Jacobs, Halpern & Weil are off to a terrific start with Flume f/Kai’s “Never Be Like You.” Not only is the track already bubbling just under the chart, but it’s pulling in some major market airplay from KAMP, Venus, KEGY and KHTS. And this week, Z100 is getting in the mix as well. The sales and streaming numbers skyrocketed this week off the early airplay. This one’s certainly drawing lots of good early attention.
At Columbia, Leipsner, Borris & Vaughan have Ruth B’s “Lost Boy” moving toward Top 30. This week, it pulled in airplay from 11 new stations, including WHBQ, WFLC and WVHT. Dillon Francis & KYGO’s “Coming Over”—last week’s Greatest Gainer—is chartbound, and next up is The Chainsmokers f/Daya’s “Don’t Let Me Down,” which has pulled in KZON, Z100, WDZH and KYLD, amongst others, prior to impact.
RCA’s Riccitelli, JR, Daddio & Cooper have two of the Biggest Movers in the Top 10 with G-Eazy f/Bebe Rexha’s “Me Myself & I” and ZAYN’s “Pillowtalk.” Both artists have very impressive social numbers, and their singles are enjoying lofty iTunes positions. Sia f/Sean Paul’s “Cheap Thrills” was Top 10 Most Added last week, as WODS, KYLD, KBFF and KMXV all came on board. Kelly Clarkson’s “Piece by Piece” has pulled in more than 35 Pop stations since her performance on American Idol, and the track is the #1 selling song in the U.S. And GRACE f/G-Eazy’s “You Don’t Own Me,” which has already pulled in 25 stations and is posting huge Spotify, Shazam and sales numbers in airplay markets, is what’s next up at Nipper’s house.
Global’s Team Palmese has Nathan Sykes f/Ariana Grande’s “Over and Over Again,” which is now Top 30 with help from Hits 1, KDIS, WNCI and WKCI. The sales and streams took big jumps this week as this one gets ready to move.
Hollywood’s Finck, Smith and Ennis have moved Shawn Hook’s “Sound of Your Heart” to #26 and have almost cleared the panel. This week’s big increases come from from WAKS, WHQC and WRVW.
Warner Bros.’ Gray, Dyer, Reich & Shih have reason to celebrate, considering that runaway smash Lukas Graham’s “7 Years” is now #1 at iTunes and Shazam, as it pulls in new airplay from WFLC, WPOI & WWWQ. Add that to the huge increases pouring in from WXKS, WIOQ, WZPL and about 20 others, and it’s pretty clear that this one’s off to the races. Andra Day’s “Rise Up,” meanwhile, is getting ready to chart, as it pulls in new airplay from nine stations, bringing her total number of believers to 66 stations.
Republic’s CW, Spangler & Russell launched a new one from Ariana Grande last week; “Dangerous Woman” flew up the chart to #30 after just a few days of airplay, not to mention that SNL appearance, which has everyone talking. Mike Posner’s “I Took a Pill in Ibiza” (Island) is about to move into the Top 10. That one just needs a couple of stations to close out the panel. Taylor Swift’s “New Romantics” (Big Machine) is set to move Top 20 after just three weeks from impact. And Zendaya f/Chris Brown’s “Something New” moves up to #27 and pulls in WAPE & Venus, while James Bay’s “Let It Go” prepares to join the Top 30 and Hailee Steinfeld f/DNCE’s “Rock Bottom” charts this week.
As for Capitol, Rainey, Youngblood & Siciliano are about to move Troye Sivan’s “Youth” Top 20 with 172+ stations already spinning and huge increases coming in this week from Hits 1, WZFT, KDIS and KRUF. Check out Sivan’s performance on Ellen below. Finally, Halsey’s “Colors” (Astralwerks) is bubbling just under the chart, after pulling in 50+ stations, including WIHT, KLIF, KNOU and KZCH.
MUSIC WE LOVE: Flume f/Kai’s “Never Be Like You” (Mom+Pop), Little Mix f/Jason Derulo’s “Secret Love Song” (SYCO).
