Cancer sucks! Once again, we’ve lost one of our own to this awful disease. Ric Lippincott was truly “one of the good guys.” I met him when he was at Maverick and he would come into the HITS offices, and I didn’t know him well, but I remember him as a very charming, happy man, who always had a smile on his face. As I read the posts on social media on Monday (2/22), I noticed that the comments’ one consistent theme surrounded what a “great human” he was. I guess that’s how we’d all like to be remembered. RIP Ric.

Meanwhile, Def Jam’s Sackheim, Rothschild & Farag have held down the #1 spot with Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” (RBMG) for four weeks in a row. Rihanna f/Drake’s “Work” (Westbury Road/Roc Nation) is now Top 15 and was one of the week’s Greatest Gainers. Alessia Cara’s “Wild Things” is now on 120 stations, and after one week of airplay following its chart debut, the track moves up to #28.

Republic’s CW, Spangler & Russell kicked things off for James Bay’s “Let It Go” with #2 Most Added honors on impact, and the track was also the #1 Most Shazamed Grammy performance. Taylor Swift’s “New Romantics” (Big Machine) is impacting now; look for big adds on this one. Mike Posner’s “I Took a Pill in Ibiza” (Island) is Top 20 now and was the #5 Greatest Gainer this week after three weeks in the Most Added column. DNCE’s “Cake by the Ocean” continues to climb up inside the Top 10 as the sales and Shazam numbers keep climbing as well. Zendaya f/Chris Brown’s “Something New” debuted at #35 this week after being #1 Most Added on impact.

Columbia’s Leipsner, Borris & Vaughan have moved The Chainsmokers f/Rozes’ “Roses” Top 3. The track is certified platinum and Top 10 at Shazam in the U.S. and globally. Rachel Platten’s “Stand by You” is ready to jump Top 20; new adds this week include KCDU & KZBD with lots of rotation increases coming from the current RTM callout. Platten is pictured right with iHeartRadio's Brett Andrews. One Direction’s “History” (SYCO) moves up to #36 with new increases coming from Radio Disney, KFRH, KJYO & WFLY. Ruth B’s “Lost Boy” is chartbound one week after impact; new airplay from WITH, WIOQ, KHTS are all driving this one up the chart. Adele’s “When We Were Young” is ready to make the Top 10 move this week with new airplay coming in from Music Choice and rotation increases coming from KUDD, WZPL, WNCI and KRQQ.

Global’s Team Palmese charted Nathan Sykes f/Ariana Grande’s “Over and Over Again” this week and pulled in new airplay from WIOQ, KKRZ, KKDM and KKHH. This one is catching on fire!

RCA’s Riccitelli, JR, Daddio & Cooper are launching Sia f/Sean Paul’s new one, “Cheap Thrills,” this week, as G Eazy f/Bebe Rexha’s “Me, Myself & I” moves closer to the Top 10. ZAYN’s “PILLOWTALK” is set to move Top 15 after three weeks running as the #1 Greatest Gainer. Kygo’s “Stole the Show” is new at KAMP, KPLV and WKSE as the track moves to #38.

Early airplay has been coming in from WEZB, KTFM, WODS and WPOW, and it’s been selling more than 50k singles a week, while Top 10 at Rhythm and Top 5 at Urban. Zara Larsson & MNEK’s “Never Forget You” jumps up 12 spots on the chart and is now in the Top 25 after just three weeks, as sales explode in airplay markets.

Artbeatz/Red’s Buch, Halpern & Weil continue to move Daya’s “Hideaway” up inside the Top 10. The single is selling and Shazaming, as it pulls in new rotation increases from WDZH, WFLC and WRNW, to name a few.
