I went to put something on my calendar today and realized that we’re already on

Elle King & Mark Adams: "Ex's" Marks the Spot

the edge of the fourth quarter. Looking down through the schedule, I see that there’s a ton of good music on its way to our desks. There’s a lot of secrecy around who and when, but my little birdies tell me that we’ve got some great music coming SOON.

Republic’s CW, Spangler & Russell have five tracks in the Top 10 this week. In a joint effort with Hollywood, Demi Lovato’s “Cool for the Summer” (Island/Safehouse/Hollywood) moved to #3 just as they prepare to impact the second single, “Confident,” next week. The Weeknd has two singles in the Top 10; “Can’t Feel My Face” (XO) stays strong at #5, as “The Hills” (XO) climbs all the way to #7 in just six short weeks. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” (Big Machine) has jumped into the Top 10 in just four weeks. Shawn Mendes’ “Stitches” (Island) is really starting to move up. After several weeks of monster callout, it’s poised to make the Top 10 move. Hailee Steinfeld’s “Love Myself” is now Top 15. Nick Jonas’ “Levels” (Safehouse/Island) is also racing up the chart after being Most Added on impact. With #1 RateTheMusic callout and #1 Greatest Gainer honors on Shazam, this one shows no signs of slowing down. Drake’s “Hotline Bling” (YMCMB) has charted and is #1 on iTunes and #3 on Shazam.

Back to Hollywood, Finck, Smith and Ennis are off to the races with Andy Grammer’s “Good to Be Alive (Hallelujah)” (S-Curve); 30+ stations are coming on board early, including KDIS, KMXV and WZPL.

Def Jam’s Sackheim, Rothschild & Farag have closed out the panel on Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean?” There was a lot of heated discussion when the release of the track was announced, and now it’s moving Top 10. They’ve definitely relaunched Justin’s career. WNCI’s Mike McCoy says, “I wanted to hate it, but in reality, I can't stop listening to it.” Alessia Cara’s “Here” is ready to move Top 25 with 135+ stations on board; WDCG, KHFI and KZCH are already in for this week.

RCA’s Riccitelli, JR, Daddio, Cooper & Strazza launched Pentatonix’s “Can’t Sleep Love” last week and it was Most Added on impact. Coming on board are SiriusXM’s Hits 1, Z100, WBBM and WZPL. R. City f/Adam Levine’s “Locked Away” (Kemosabe) moved up to #4, pulling in 1000+ new spins this week. Elle King’s “Ex’s and Oh’s” moves into the Top 25. It added 35 new stations last week, just as it posted some huge potential scores in MB callout. Kygo’s “Firestone” is posting huge Shazam numbers in Miami, Tampa and Orlando, which is where the track is receiving heavy rotations. Nicky Jam & Enrique Iglesias’ “El Perdon (Forgiveness)” charted this week and is #1 at iTunes in 27 countries, while holding the Top 5 Worldwide Shazam spot as well.

Artbeatz/RED’s Buch, Halpern & Weil moved Daya’s “Hide Away” to #34 this week. Considering the sales and social numbers on this one, it could continue to climb rapidly; KMVQ, WODS, WFKS and WPXY are already in for this week. They also have two heating up and looking to chart; Shaggy f/Pitbull’s “Only Love” puts KTU, WRNW and WXXL on the board, while The Chainsmokers f/Rozes’ “Roses” is new at WLDI, WHQC, WKST and KBFF.

Capitol
’s Reese, Rainey, Youngblood & Siciliano also have two tracks making their way to the chart. Audien f/Lady A’s “Something Better” is off to a great start, pulling in KMVQ, WNKS, WZPL and WDJX last week, and Halsey’s “New Americana” is pulling in some major early believers with KIIS, KZON, WXSS and WRVW.

Epic’s Team Glassman moved A Great Big World f/Futuristic’s “Hold Each Other” (Black Magnetic) Top 30 this week, just as the sales and Shazam numbers take off; WRQX, WWPW and WPRO are all new this week. Meghan Trainor f/John Legend’s “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” has some terrific MB callout numbers, and WEZB, WIHT and WBLI are all new this week. Fifth Harmony’s “I’m in Love With a Monster” (SYCO) is just about to chart with 60+ stations already on board.

Columbia’s Leipsner, Borris & Vaughan have a lot on their plate, as One Direction’s “Drag Me Down” (SYCO) heads Top 10 and both Calvin Harris + Disciples’ “How Deep Is Your Love” and Little Mix’s “Black Magic” (SYCO) move Top 20. OMI’s “Hula Hoop” (Ultra) and Hozier’s “Someone New” are both chartbound. And this is all going on while they impact the new track from the Empire cast, “No Doubt About It”; WNKS, KLUC, KPLV and WFBC are already on the board.

Warner Bros.Gray, Dyer, Reich & Shih have Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Downtown” going Top 15 this week. It continues to be in the Greatest Gainer column, four weeks after impact. Some of this week’s big increases are from WXSS, WPOI and WODS. Adam Lambert’s “Ghost” moves Top 20, while Nico & Vinz f/Bebe Rexha’s “That’s How You Know” and Echosmith’s “Let’s Love” both move closer to the chart.

MUSIC WE LOVE: DNCE’s “Cake by the Ocean” (Republic), Pharrell Williams’ “Freedom” (Columbia).

WEEKND WARRIORS: At the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Vegas, XO/Republic’s The Weeknd prepares to clean out a bevy of label folk at the Texas Hold-’Em table. Seen just before betting their Varvatos shoes on red are (l-r) Davey Dee Ingenloff, Talia Gilboa, Amanda Dobbins, Nicole Nolletti, Gary Spangler, The Weeknd, Charlie Walk, Rob Harvey, Toby Russell and Manny Simon.
