Wow, I can’t believe that we’re already talking about fourth quarter releases and the end of summer; this year is flying by. Football is in preseason, baseball is headed for the playoffs, but it’s still hot as hell, so where’s the fall weather?

Speaking of hot as hell, CW, Spangler & Russell once again have the #1 Top 40 track with The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” (XO). Follow-up single, “The Hills,” charted this week and is sitting at #32 already. Hailee Steinfeld’s “Love Myself” debuted this week at #28 and became the Greatest Gainer. Shawn Mendes’ “Stitches” (Island) just moved Top 25, posting some monster callout at both Mediabase and RateTheMusic. Felix Jaehn’s “Ain’t Nobody” was Most Added on impact and is currently trending #1 at Shazam. Fall Out Boy’s “Uma Thurman” (DCD2/Island) has moved up to #11 and looks poised for the Top 10, while American Authors’ “Go Big or Go Home” (Island) was Most Added on impact and is pulling in syncs from everywhere (Rachael Ray, NBA, MLB, CBS and NBC series). Travis Mill f/TI’s “Young and Stupid” is impacting this week and should end up in the Most Added column.

The joint effort of Island/Republic and Hollywood’s Finck, Smith and Ennis has moved Demi Lovato’s “Cool for the Summer” (Safehouse) up to #8; it’s earned #1 RTM callout and has been #1 SNOL for five weeks. Hollywood also has Bea Miller’s “Fire N Gold” sitting at #42 and looking to chart.

Capitol’s Reese, Rainey, Youngblood and Siciliano have three tracks in the teens and growing: 5 Seconds of Summer’s “She’s Kinda Hot” (#15), Tori Kelly’s “Should’ve Been Us” (#16) and Silento’s “Watch Me” (#17). Charting this week is Disclosure f/Sam Smith’s “Omen.”

Columbia’s Leipsner, Borris and Vaughan continue to have success with Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song”; the track is Top 10 at Pop and Top 5 at iTunes, while also Top 10 in nationwide sales for the 10th straight week, having sold almost two million to date. One Direction’s “Drag Me Down” (SYCO) is already Top 20, selling over 450k in just 10 days. Little Mix’s “Black Magic” (SYCO), meanwhile, has 45+ stations on board, and WKSS, KDLW and WWKL are already in for this week. Calvin Harris & Disciples’ “How Deep Is Your Love” adds new believers to the list with WKSC, B96 and WWHT, while moving Top 30 this week. Hozier’s “Someone New,” having successful Hot AC and AAA campaigns, has started to pull in Pop stations; KMXV, G105 and WNCI all came on board early.

CBS Radio's Michael Martin with Little Mix

At Def Jam, Sackheim, Rothschild & Farag moved Alessia Cara’s “Here” up to #33. After putting a ton of majors on the board, the audience number went from 1.6m to 6.5m this week; Top 10 Shazam markets include Phoenix, St Louis, New Orleans and Hartford. Afrojack’s “SummerThing!” is now Top 30 and on over 95 Pop stations, including KIIS, Z100, KAMP and Y100. And mark your calendars; we’re getting close to the launch of Justin Bieber’s “What Do You Mean,” which is due 8/28.

Global Entertainment’s Team Palmese charted Nathan Sykes’ “Kiss Me Quick” this week. The track is starting to post some impressive MScores; KYLD, WBBM and WNOH all have good numbers. New adds already posted this week include WFBC, WLAN and WNRW.

Artbeatz/Red’s Buch, Halpern and Weil have a strong one in Daya’s “Hide Away.” After a stellar performance at the iHeartRadio Music Summit, Premium Choice is coming on board this week. The track should be chart-bound. New adds include KSLZ, KNOU and WKSZ. This track is selling, Shazaming and winning over programmers every week.

As for Epic, Team Glassman is launching a new single from Fifth Harmony, “I’m in Love With a Monster” (SYCO) [Editor’s Note: I think I’ve said that before]. With 70+ stations already spinning this one, it should be a shoe-in for Most Added this week. Epic charted two tracks this week. First off, there’s A Great Big World’s “Hold Each Other” (Black Magnetic), which has 100+ stations and a very impressive list of majors, including WITH, Z100 and WRVW. There’s also Meghan Trainor f/John Legend’s “Like I’m Gonna Lose You,” which has huge research starting to come in, and WRVW, WDZH and WKCI are all moving up based on callout. Jidenna’s “Classic Man” (Wondaland) is now Top 25. WXSS just moved to power based on callout. With over 100 stations on board, this one should start to move up quickly.

Warner Bros.Gray, Dyer, Reich & Shih will be launching the new Macklemore & Lewis’ track, “Downtown,” on 8/27. “Growing Up,” which is pulling in a lot of early airplay, is a total fan favorite, but it will not be the single. Adam Lambert’s “Ghost Town” has Top 5 RTM and should see an increase in airplay this week. That should move the track Top 20. Jason Derulo’s “Cheyenne” (Beluga Heights) continues to look strong inside the Top 20, while both Echosmith’s “Let’s Love” and Nico and Vinz f/Bebe Rexha’s “That’s How You Know” are both moving toward the chart. And look out for Kaya Stewart’s new record, “Let’s Split,” which is going for adds 8/24.

RCA’s Riccitelli, JR, Daddio, Cooper & Strazza have R City f/Adam Levine’s “Locked Away” preparing to make the jump to the Top 10, grabbing 20 new adds last week, which included WWWQ, KTFM and KPTT. Both Prince Royce f/Pitbull & Jennifer Lopez’s “Back It Up” and Elle King’s “Ex’s and Oh’s” are sitting just under the chart and ready to make their moves. The latter pulled in 28 stations and was the #4 Most Added last week. Kygo’s “Firestone” is building a good list of believers, as it added WBLI, WZFT and WFLZ to the list last week.

MUSIC WE LOVE: Shaggy f/Pitbull & Gene Noble’s “Only Love” (Brooklyn Knights/RAL), Kaya Stewart’s “Let’s Split” (Warner Bros.)
