POP MART

We are definitely in the HEAT of the summer, and the weather is just about as wild as I can ever remember it being. There are lots of seasonal shows going on and everyone is talking about the “guests” appearing with Ms. Swift, as she moves through the country like her own summer storm.

And speaking of Taylor Swift, “Bad Blood” f/Kendrick Lamar (Big Machine) remains at the top of the Pop Chart for the fifth week in a row. Understandably, Republic’s CW, Spangler & Russell are all smiles. The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” (XO) moves up inside the Top 5 and, as this week’s Greatest Gainer, looks ready to take the top spot soon. There’s also some early airplay building on “The Hills,” which should be the next single. Fall Out Boy’s “Uma Thurman” (DCD2/Island) is getting a boost from great RTM callout numbers, and it jumps to #17 this week. Both Sage The Gemini f/Nick Jonas’ “Good Thing” and Natalie La Rose f/Fetty Wap’s “Around the World” (IMG) are posting strong numbers as they move closer to Top 30. Shawn Mendes’ “Stitches” (Island) just made the Top 30 jump and, with the new callout posted this week, should continue to move up. Demi Lovato’s “Cool for the Summer” (Safehouse/Island/Hollywood) moved Top 15 and was this week’s #2 Greatest Gainer. It’s had a +70% increase at Spotify this week, so it isn’t likely to slow down anytime soon.

Over at Hollywood, Finck, Smith & Ennis are also off and running with Bea Miller’s “Fire N Gold” (SYCO), which continues to sell 16k a week and has 30m combined streams, as it moves closer to charting. Also, Andy Grammer’s “Honey, I’m Good” (S-Curve) is at #8 and just got big rotation increases from Z100, WKSS, WRQX and WBBM, to name a few.

Epic’s Team Glassman are thrilled with the success they’re having with Fifth Harmony f/Kid Ink’s “Worth It” (SYCO), as it’s now Top 5 with Premium Choice moving it to power rotation this week; it should take another big jump. Jidenna’s “Classic Man” (Wondaland) moved up eight spots this week and it’s the Top 20 Most Shazam’d song in the country; KKHH, KHKS and WKQI are all coming on board this week. Meghan Trainor f/John Legend’s “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” is bubbling under, looking to chart and just pulled in KMVQ and KPTT, along with spin increases from WRVW, WKCI and WDZH.

Warner Bros.Gray, Dyer, Reich & Shih have three tracks moving up inside the Top 30. Jason Derulo’s “Cheyenne” (Beluga Heights) had a huge add week and is now sitting just inside the Top 30, while both Kaya Stewart’s “In Love With a Boy” and Adam Lambert’s “Ghost Town” continue to gain spins and climb up the chart. Meanwhile, this is impact week for Nico & Vinz f/Kid Ink & Bebe Rexha’s “That’s How You Know”; look for it in the Most Added column.

Global Entertainment’s Team Palmese had another great week of adds on Nathan Sykes’ “Kiss Me Quick,” pulling in new airplay from WPLW, WHBQ, WKQI and WNRW. Look for Nathan to perform the track on GMA this week.

Capitol’s Reese, Rainey, Youngblood & Siciliano have been spotted all over the country doing their polished and well-rehearsed dance moves to Silento’s “Watch Me,” as the track moves Top 25 this week. They’re impacting 5 Seconds of Summer’s new track, “She’s Kinda Hot,” this week and, from the looks of things it, it should end up in the Most Added Column with some pretty impressive call letters attached. It’s already charting as we speak, with just one day of airplay under its belt. Sam Smith’s “Like I Can” took a huge jump this week and moved up inside the Top 30. Tori Kelly’s “Should’ve Been Us” made the jump to Top 20 and pulled in KNOU, WNVZ and KTBT.

Z100's Mark Medina, Silento, Joseph Rainey

RCA’s Riccitelli, JR, Daddio, Cooper & Strazza are all screaming about the immediate Shazam reaction they’re seeing on R City f/Adam Levine’s “Locked Away,” which is just getting ready to chart; it’s snagged lots of Top 5’s and #1s from markets with early airplay. Pitbull f/Chris Brown’s “Fun” (Mr. 305/Polo Grounds) continues to move up the chart and sell singles (over 350k to date). Prince Royce f/Pitbull & Jennifer Lopez’s “Back It Up” got new believers in SiriusXM’s Venus, WBMP, WXSS and WNFN last week. And as we posted earlier, they’re getting ready to launch the follow-up track to Magic’s “Rude,” which is approaching 3.5m in sales; the new track is #SundayFunday, a phrase we here at the water cooler are very fond of!

Artbeatz/Red’s Buch, Halpern and Weil are off to the races with Daya’s “Hide Away”; new this week are WMVQ, WKSE, WRVQ and WPST. The Shazam numbers on this one through the roof in airplay markets.

At Def Jam, Sackheim, Rothschild & Farag have Afrojack’s “SummerThing!” ready to jump on the chart, as they pull in new believers, including WIOQ, WODS and WJHM, this week. Alessia Cara’s “Here” has impressive Shazam numbers and is already starting to pull in early callout numbers from KTFM, WBLI and WZPL. Axwell^Ingrosso’s “Sun Is Shining,” meanwhile, had an impressive of early majors jump on board, with Y100, KYLD, KKRZ and KDND. The H&M summer campaign that features the song is in full swing, and there are already 2.5m views on YouTube.

Columbia’s Leipsner, Borris & Vaughan sure have a lot of great things shakin right now. Little Mix’s “Black Magic” (SYCO) had a huge launch last week and is the Greatest Gainer off the chart; with 60+ stations on board, this one should chart very quickly. OMI’s “Cheerleader” (Ultra) continues to post big increases and should be the next #1. Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” continues to post big Shazam and iTunes numbers, while she makes her way to the Top 10. MKTO’s “Bad Girls” has charted, pulling in WKSC, WRNW and WQEN to add to the other 70+ stations on board. This week, Calvin Harris + Disciples’ “How Deep Is Your Love” kicks off, and WBMP, WPOI, WIOQ and KBFF are already on the board; this one should have a spot in the Most Added column this week.

MUSIC WE LOVE: The Weeknd’s “The Hills” (XO/Republic), Cro’s “Dream” (Columbia).
