NOW WHAT?
We have no fucking idea.
COUNTRY'S NEWEST DISRUPTOR
Three chords and some truth you may not be ready for.
AI IS ALREADY EATING YOUR LUNCH
The kids can tell the difference... for now.
WHO'S BUYING THE DRINKS?
That's what we'd like to know.

Well, now that 98% of us can all crumple up our brackets and toss them, let’s just switch sports. Whether we’re talking about Opening Day games for MLB or Master’s Week, please can we just move on?! If you’re a Wisconsin or a Duke fan, here’s to you for making it through a very tough March Madness series.
Over at Republic, they’re still firing on all cylinders as CW, Spangler and Russell continue their strong hold on the Top 40 chart with three titles in the Top 10. Natalie La Rose f/Jeremih’s “Somebody” (IMG/Republic) continues to climb through the Top 10, Ariana Grande’s “One Last Time” moves up to #8 and The Weeknd’s “Earned It” is the Greatest Gainer for the week. Tove Lo’s “Talking Body” (Island) jumps inside the Top 20 with a kiss from the callout gods.
Warner Bros.’ Gray, Dyer, Reich and Shih have Jason Derulo’s “Want to Want Me” set to move Top 10 after just four weeks. Jake Miller f/Travi e McCoy’s “Dazed and Confused” was Most Added on impact and is picking up steam, while Echosmith’s “Bright” just got some terrific callout in major markets, as well as big Shazam numbers. KDWB’s Lucas Phelan (seen right) says, “Instantly one of my biggest songs in callout. Huge potential!”
Hollywood’s Finck and Smith picked up 10 new adds last week on Andy Grammer’s “Honey, I’m Good,” including KHKS and WRNW, all while putting R5’s “ Let’s Not Be Alone Tonight” in the Most Added Column with 10 stations already on board for this week. The latter should land right back in there this week.
Capitol’s Reese, Rainey, Youngblood and Siciliano pulled in major market airplay from WBBM, WODS and KAMP on Sam Smith’s “Lay Me Down” and have it ready to join labelmate Tori Kelly’s “Nobody Love” in the Top 20.
RAL’s Weil and Halpern got back great research news on Shaggy f/Mohombi/Faydee/Costi’s “I Need Your Love” from KTU this week. It’s posting huge potential scores; early adds on the board this week include KKHH, WWHT and WJHM.
RCA’s Riccitelli, JR, Strazza, Daddio and Cooper continue to pull in the majors on Walk the Moon’s “Shut Up and Dance”; this week’s list includes WXKS, KEGY, KDND and KLUC. Sia’s “ Elastic Heart” is also having success pulling in majors with WRDW, KNOU, WHQC and WKSL. Chris Brown & Tyga’s “Ayo” moves up inside the Top 30, and they’re also gaining ground with Deorro X Chris Brown’s “Five More Hours.” WFLC is already on the board for this week.
Def Jam’s Sackheim, Chester, Rothschild and Farag have had a whirlwind of TV appearances with Iggy Azalea and Rihanna. Iggy Azalea f/Jennifer Hudson’s “Trouble” (Grand Hustle) is sitting at #33 on the chart and climbling, while Rihanna’s “Bitch Better Have My Money” (Roc Nation) is quickly moving up to join her on the chart. Alesso f/Roy English’s “Cool” was one of the Most Added on impact and should join the party soon.
(L-R: Noah Sheer, Mike Chester, Alesso, Nicki Farag, Rick Sackheim, Keith Rothschild)
Columbia’s Leipsner, Borris and Vaughan picked up 10 new adds last week on George Ezra’s “Budapest.” They already have WKST and KQCH on this board for this week, along with some killer research coming out of WRVW, WNCI and WIOQ. LunchMoney Lewis’ “Bills” is on over 150 stations, at #27 on the chart and climbing. Dylan Francis & DJ Snake’s “Get Low” impacts Pop this week. With the placement in Furious 7 – the #1 movie in the country – and the commercial syncs with Dodge & Taco Bell, this one will be everywhere.
Epic’s Team Glassman have three tracks climbing the chart. Meghan Trainor’s “Dear Future Husband” is already at #23 and has massive single sales. Fifth Harmony f/Kid Ink’s “Worth It” (SYCO) is #31 on the chart and the #18 single on iTunes, and the research in Detroit and San Diego looks very strong. Life of Dillon’s “Overload” is on over 110 stations, sitting at #36 and starting to research in Nashville. So, looks like all systems are a-moving like Bo Ryan’s swing offense. For those of you who don’t know, Bo Ryan’s swing offense is the offense that Wisconsin (…the team that beat KY on Sat.) runs.
MUSIC WE LOVE: Calvin Harris f/Haim’s “Pray to God” (Columbia), Jeremih f/Flo Rida’s “Tonight Belongs to U” (Def Jam).
