BIGXTHAPLUG F/BAILEY ZIMMERMAN, SLEEP TOKEN STORM DSPs

April 5, 2025

Bailey Zimmerman and BigXthaPlug; Sleep Token

Two new songs have stormed the upper reaches of the Spotify U.S chart, and they may not be the ones you expected.

While Drake's "Nokia" remains at #1, "All the Way" (Atlantic/Warner Nashville), a collab between Dallas rapper BigXthaPlug and country chart-topper Bailey Zimmerman, debuted at #2 on the Spot U.S. and on Apple Music, and at #69 on Spotify global. Kudos to Teams BigX and Zimmerman (and his very happy Atlantic A&R execs, Ian Cripps and Jeff Levin) for pulling off this cross-genre smash. BigX will release a country-inspired album later this year.

Meanwhile, mysterious U.K. alternative-metal band Sleep Token is shaping up to be the breakout rock act of 2025, as its new single, "Caramel," shot onto the Spot U.S. at #3 and #24 global following the success of previous opus "Emergence." The masked group's U.S. arena tour is already sold out, a picture-perfect setup for its RCA debut, Even in Arcadia, due on 5/9.

Other top debuts include Coachella-bound The Marías (Nice Life/Atlantic), whose new "Back to Me" premiered at #24 on Spotify U.S.; new tracks from a pair of global superstars, Columbia's Miley Cyrus and Atlantic's Ed Sheeran (the latter a last-minute addition to Coachella), who saw U.S. debuts at #26 and #60, respectively, and global bows at #33 and #27 for their new singles, "End of the World" and "Azizam"; and songstress Laufey (Vingolf), whose "Sliver Lining" sits at #59 on the Spot U.S.

Meanwhile, Columbia's Malcolm Todd enjoyed another big leap as "Chest Pain (I Love)" finds a new peak at #29 on Spotify U.S.

Now, back to losing money on college basketball.
