NEW U.K. SIGNINGS: CELESTE WAITE, DREW PARKS
There's a right mixed bag of new signings in Blighty of late, with additions to the rosters of Lily Allen's Bank Holiday Records, Conrad Withey's Instrumental and Tim Parry's Big Life.
There’s a right mixed bag of new signings in Blighty of late, with additions to the rosters of Lily Allen’s Bank Holiday Records, Conrad Withey’s Instrumental and Tim Parry’s Big Life.
The newest signing to Bank Holiday is singer/songwriter Celeste Waite (pictured), whose debut single, “Daydreaming,” premiered on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show Wednesday. Waite has next to no online imprint but we like the little we’ve heard so far.
Drew Parks, a hip-hop artist hailing from Detroit, has garnered enough attention online to pique interest at Instrumental, which counts Warner as an investor. The development label has signed Parks to distribute a remix of Major Lazer’s smash “Cold Water.”
Elsewhere, London rock producer Tom Mitchener is now being looked after by Kat Kennedy at Big Life Management. After working with a raft of indie bands, including Asylums, Gallows, Young Guns and Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, he’s currently working on the debut album from new five-piece Counterfeit.
