iTUNES SEES NEW FACES (UPDATE)

Powered by some high-profile TV appearances, superstars Kelly Clarkson and Lady Gaga are catapulting singles into the Top 25 at iTunes, which is currently experiencing a sea of new faces...

Powered by a swarm of high-profile television appearances, the iTunes singles chart has refreshed with with a bunch of brand new music debuts inside the Top 25.

Most notable is the #2 perch occupied by Kelly Clarkson and her song "Piece by Piece," after the singer delivered an incredibly emotional performance of it on American Idol on Thursday (2/25). Her rendition has been watched 10 million times in the last four days on YouTube. The live Idol version has flown to #5.

Also moving units by issuing the feels during massive TV exposure is Lady Gaga and her equally affecting ballad "Til It Happens To You," lifted up by a stirring Oscar performance 2/28 that had her locking arms onstage with a 100 victims of sexual violence for one of the night's biggest moments, on a night filled with "Big Moments." The single is currently at #11.

 ZAYN was also the beneficiary of a nice TV bump when he revealed his second single "iT's YoU" from his forthcoming solo album in a live performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon 2/17, the song, a sophisticated R&B ballad crafted by Frank Ocean producer Malay, is currently posted at #36. His "PILLOWTALK" IS NOW #10. 

Lukas Graham's "7 Years" on Warner Bros. and Fifth Harmony's "Work From Home" on Epic, meanwhile, have rocketed to #4 and #6 sales, respectively—with zero TV. 

Mike Posner's "I Took a Pill in Ibiza" (Island) has moved to #9, Zara Larsson & MNEK (Epic) are at #15 with "Never Forget You" and Maren Morris' "My Church" (Columbia Nashville) sits at #16. We'll be following these and other new top-selling newcomers closely. Stay tuned.
