Esteemed Mexican singer-songwriter Natalia Lafourcade has announced Cancionera, her new, analog album recorded entirely in one take, arriving 4/24 via Sony Latin.
Lafourcade, who holds the record for most Latin Grammy wins for a female artist with 18, co-produced the album with Adan Jodorowsky, the producer from her most recent Grammy-winning album, De Todas Las Flores. Cancionera's collaborators include Hermanos Gutierrez, frequent Patti Smith collaborators Soundwalk Collective, flamenco icon Israel Fernandez and more.
"The Veracruz culture has deeply influenced the way I understand music," Natalia explains. "In this new album, that influence manifests in the rhythms and the poetics of its lyrics."
Lafourcade is kicking off the Cancionera campaign with a video for single "Como Quisiera Quererte" f/El David Aguilar. She also expanded her North American tour, which includes the largest U.S. trek of her career. Find tour info here and watch the video and album trailer below.
