Kendrick Lamar (pgLang/Interscope) headlined the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday (2/9), becoming the first solo rapper to do so—and DAMN., did he deliver.

The big question going in was, "Will he perform 'Not Like Us?'" Arriving in May 2024, the Grammys-dominating, chart-topping track was a 2024 summer anthem, but it's also a diss aimed squarely at Drake―the crowning blow in one of the most celebrated feuds since Hamilton beefed with Burr―and the subject of legal action by Drizzy. Despite the controversy surrounding the cut, K. Dot did it anyway, much to the delight of, well, probably everyone but Drake.

Introduced by Samuel L. Jackson, in Uncle Sam drag as part of the segment's framing device, Kendrick took the stage rapping from atop a GNX, a reference to his recent, like-titled album. He was flanked by a phalanx of dancers clad in red, white and blue as he glided through a medley that included "squabble up," "LOYALTY" and "peekaboo." SZA joined him for "luther" and "All the Stars."

While performing "Not Like Us," Lamar looked directly into the camera when he got to the lyric "Say Drake." The producer of the track, Mustard, appeared alongside him, as did, briefly, Serena Williams. Kendrick concluded his Roc Nation-booked performance with "tv off." (Speaking of Roc Nation's Super Bowl booking, Kendrick was a guest on the 2022 halftime show featuring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent and Eminem).

Lamar's sixth album, GNX debuted at #1 on 11/22/24, with more than 319k units moved in its opening week. Inclusions "luther," "tv off," "Not Like Us" and "squabble up" are all reaping halftime rewards.

Kendrick currently holds the top three positions on Spotify's U.S. Top 50, with "luther" f/SZA at #1, "tv off" at #2 and "Not Like Us" at #3; "squabble up" sits at #9. On Apple Music's singles chart, Kendrick and SZA own the top five spots with "Not Like Us," "luther," SZA's "30 for 30" f/Kendrick, "tv off" and "squabble up."
