SHE IS THE MUSIC TO SALUTE GRACIE ABRAMS

March 13, 2025

On 3/27 Gracie Abrams will be fêted by She Is the Music and its co-founder, Alicia Keys, in recognition of her all-female team’s ability to excel in a male-dominated industry. The proceedings will take place at L.A.’s Peppermint Club.

The org will also acknowledge 50 exceptional women representing all facets of the biz.

Abrams, who's managed by Alexandra DePersia and booked by CAA's Carole Kinzel and Shirin Nury, issued a quote that reads, “Being surrounded by such an incredible team of women has changed the way I see everything. They’re not only insanely talented in their individual capacities, but also intentional about supporting each other. I’m deeply honored to be recognized by She Is the Music, an organization that has done so much to acknowledge and lift up women in this industry.”

Universal Music Publishing Group Chairman/CEO and She Is the Music co-founder Jody Gerson added, “Women supporting women is at the very core of She Is the Music’s mission. Creating a sisterhood of accomplished women and the next generations of working women across all facets of the music industry is our collective path forward to success. We are also making a powerful statement by honoring Gracie Abrams and her team for embodying the spirit of sisterhood.”

TuneCore CEO Andreea Gleeson and USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative founder Dr. Stacy L. Smith will present key findings from the newly released Inclusion in the Music Business report co-authored by Smith. Among its discoveries:

  • 84.2% of the most senior executives at major music companies are white men.
  • Only 13.2% of CEO/president roles are held by women.
  • Just 5.3% of top executives are women of color, a figure that’s remained unchanged since 2021.
