Sony Music Publishing U.K. has inked Freya Ridings to an exclusive global publishing deal as the London-based singer-songwriter preps her third album.

“It’s such an honor to be signing with Sony Music Publishing,” she enthused in the announcement. “It’s been a dream of mine since 19 to sign with them as an artist-songwriter, and I’m very excited to share the music we create together.”

Ridings scored her first Top 10 U.K. hit in 2018 with the ballad “Lost Without You,” leading to the release of her self-titled 2019 debut studio album and a BRIT nomination. Her second LP, 2023’s Blood Orange, contained the hits “Castles” and “Weekends.” She’s amassed nearly 4m million monthly listeners on Spotify.

“For almost a decade, I have been trying to work with Freya, simply because her songwriting and voice are hypnotizing,” David Ventura, president & co-managing director, U.K., and SVP international, offered. “After all this time, it is exciting to have the opportunity to finally be in her team. Freya’s songwriting is inspired—she has many things to write about, and her work ethic is incredible. New music is around the corner, and it's time for Freya’s music to reach new heights.”

A&R Manager Ollie Audouin added, “Freya is a special songwriter, with an iconic voice. We are very excited to be working with Freya on this next inspired chapter of her career.”

Alex Martin of AM Mgmt. noted that “SMP have long been admirers of Freya’s talent and have shown incredible passion, commitment and patience to work with Freya—attributes we really value and respect and were huge aspects in why we decided to work with them.”
