SOUNDCLOUD EXPANDS TO MEXICO
SoundCloud is going south… into Mexico. Starting on Thursday (4/10), the company has brought its full suite of subscription services to the country for the first time.
For fans, this enhances music discovery with the local launch of SoundCloud Go, Go+, DJ, and student subscriptions. Artists will now be able to pinpoint the sharing of their music with localized pricing for Artist and Artist Pro subscriptions, which includes the ability to monetize streams from local listeners.
With SoundCloud’s data and analytics tools, artists based in Mexico can also gain insights into their listeners’ habits, track engagement and more effectively create music for individual markets..
SoundCloud CEO Eliah Seton said, “We’re focused on markets where creativity is thriving, genres are evolving and emerging artists are shaping what’s next in music. Mexico is one of the most exciting and culturally dynamic music scenes in the world. That’s why we’re investing meaningfully in the region and in the artists driving its future.”
“This launch is a chance to celebrate and elevate local artists, help new sounds break through and connect fans with music that truly reflects who they are,” added Dion Baez, VP of music marketing. “Mexico’s music culture is vibrant, genre-defying and constantly evolving, just like SoundCloud.”
