DANIEL NIGRO'S AMUSEMENT PARKS WITH UMG
Daniel Nigro and UMG Chairman/CEO Sir Lucian Grainge
UMG has expanded its partnership with Grammy-winning producer Daniel Nigro and his label, Amusement Records. Amusement artists will have the option to partner with any UMG label.
"Daniel embodies the type of creative brilliance and entrepreneurial spirit that is at the heart of UMG," said UMG Chairman/CEO Sir Lucian Grainge. "I’m so pleased to embark on this next chapter in our successful relationship, and I can’t wait to hear the culture-shaping music and artists Daniel will bring next to our global family.”
Nigro founded his imprint in 2023 for the release of Grammy Best New Artist Chappell Roan's The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess (Amusement/Island), which has collected more than 4.3b streams (and counting) worldwide. Also co-writer and producer of Roan's latest single, the country-pop gem "The Giver," he joined the UMG family six years ago, working almost exclusively with labels/artists under the UMG umbrella.
He was named Producer of the Year at the 2025 Grammy Awards for his work with Roan and with Olivia Rodrigo on the Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes ST.
Nigro burst into the pop mainstream as Rodrigo's collaborator on her breakthrough debut album, 2021's quadruple-platinum SOUR (which spawned monster singles "Drivers License" and "Good 4 U") and solidified his reputation with her giant follow-up, 2023's GUTS. SOUR and GUTS (both via Geffen) were nominated for Album of the Year and Rodrigo was named Best New Artist in 2022. So, for those of you keeping score, Nigro is 2-for-2 on BNA.
"I want Amusement Records to be a place where artists can feel comfortable growing and developing at their own pace but with all the real resources needed to thrive and succeed," Nigro said. "Also, a place where I can have the freedom to help choose the right team each time for the artist. I know in my heart that the people at Universal understand this and I am beyond excited about what's to come."
If you need Daniel, he'll be in the Champagne Room at the Pink Pony Club.
