The 67th annual Grammy Awards are still scheduled to take place 2/2 at Crypto.com Arena, but UMG has canceled related events amid the ongoing fires in Greater Los Angeles.
"Today we have canceled all of our Grammy-related events, including the Artist Showcase and After-Grammy Party, and will redirect the resources that would have been used for those events to assist those affected by the wildfires," reads a statement. "Our deepest gratitude goes to the first responders and emergency personnel, who continue to perform heroically."
"L.A. is home to so many of us," the company continued. "We are committed to helping and supporting the music community, our artists, our teams and the people of Los Angeles to get through this horrific episode."
Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. announced on Monday morning (1/13) that the show would go on as planned, putting an end to rampant industrywide speculation. Mason added that the ceremony would double as a fundraiser for those affected by the unprecedented natural disaster.
