L.A. REMAINS ON EDGE AS WEEK 2 BEGINS

Southern California experienced relatively calm weather conditions over the weekend, enabling firefighters to make progress in containing the Palisades and Eaton fires. But the National Weather Service has issued a “particularly dangerous situation” red-flag warning through Wednesday. The strongest winds are expected tonight through Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, most Los Angeles Unified School District schools and offices reopened today, and the Lakers and Clippers are scheduled to play tonight at DTLA’s Crypto.com Arena and Inglewood’s Intuit Dome, respectively, following last week’s postponements. Lakers coach JJ Redick lost his home in the Palisades fire.

The NFL wild-card playoff game between the Rams and Minnesota Vikings, which was moved Friday from SoFi Stadium to Glendale, Arizona, will be played tonight.
