Def Jam Recordings is continuing its 40th anniversary celebration with the first music-focused FAST channel (short for "free, ad-supported television") on Tubi. Produced by Mercury Studios, the Def Jam 40 Channel will feature music videos, documentaries and live performances by Def Jam artists like LL COOL J, Mariah Carey, Beastie Boys, John Legend and DMX.
“Over the last 40 years, Def Jam has consistently led the charge in pioneering new ways for our artists to express their creativity and connect with fans,” said Def Jam CEO/Chairman Tunji Balogun. “As we continue to evolve in the music landscape, we are excited to partner with Tubi in an effort to reach new audiences by embracing dynamic, innovative platforms.”
Mercury SVP Digital Content & Partnerships Dan Borrelli pointed out, “FAST channels like these can give artists the ability to reach fans easily and build lasting relationships with audiences."
Fans in the U.K. will be able to watch the channel on Samsung TV+.
Tune in on Tubi here. In related news, some of us are old enough to remember when every channel was a "FAST channel," and we just called it TV.
