Taylor Swift’s THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT (EMI) scores a ninth nonconsecutive week at #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart. On the singles tally, Gracie Abrams denies WHAM! a return to the top.
Following the physical release of its new ANTHOLOGY version, TTPD is back at #1, with 79% of its sales made up of hard copies.
Michael Bublé’s Christmas (Reprise) is up 13 places to #4. That’s just ahead of the week’s highest new entry, Juice WRLD’s latest posthumous album, The Party Never Ends (Interscope), which lands at #5.
Fontaines D.C.’s Romance (XL) is up 15 places to #13 following a U.K. tour. Further down, London rapper Potter Payper has his sixth Top 40 entry, with Nightmare Before Christmas (36 The Label) landing at #30.
On the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart, “That’s So True” (Interscope) by Abrams marks a fifth week at #1 as “Last Christmas” (Epic) by WHAM! rises six places to #2.
Five more Christmas songs are in today’s Top 10: “All I Want for Christmas Is You” (Columbia) by Mariah Carey is at #5, Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” (MCA) is at #6, an updated version of Band Aid’s charity classic, “Do They Know It’s Christmas” (Mercury), is at #8, Ed Sheeran and Elton John’s “Merry Christmas” (Atlantic) is at #9 and Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock” (Geffen) is at #10.
Wicked’s “Defying Gravity” (Republic), by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, remains at #7, while the film's “What Is This Feeling?” rises one to #16.
Elsewhere, Stromae enters the Top 20 for the first time in his career, with “Ma Meilleure Ennemie” f/Pomme (Riot Games) ascending two to #19.
