Apple Music has unveiled its annual year-end lists. Users showed a lot of love for Kendrick Lamar, Benson Boone and Dua Lipa in 2024.
K. Dot’s "Not Like Us" takes top-streamed song on Apple Music globally, having spent six weeks atop the service’s chart. Boone’s “Beautiful Things” wound up the most-identified song on Shazam this year, followed by Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control." Dua’s “Houdini” was the most-spun song on radio around the world, edging out “Lose Control” and Tate McRae’s “Greedy.”
Apple has expanded its Replay Experience with several new features this year, including:
Expanded Top Listeners: Listeners can now see whether they’ve made it into the Top 500 or Top 1,000 listeners to any of their favorite artists or genres. It was previously 100.
Listening Streaks: Users can find out the longest consecutive number of days they’ve played.
Replay by Month: Listeners can revisit their top songs, artists and albums from each month of the year.
Date of First Play: Fans can determine the date they first listened to their top song, artist and album this year.
In addition, Apple has added collaborative playlists, which allow users to interact and comment on those of others with emojis and Apple Music Sing, which facilitates singalongs with adjustable vocals and real-time lyrics.
HITS is cringing about the number of times “Baby Shark” still shows up on our playlists.
