SHABOOZEY SCORES LONGEST-RUNNING #1 SINGLE OF 2024; SOUNDEXCHANGE TAKES NOTICE

Shaboozey has had a helluva year. For one thing, "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" has been crowned the longest-running #1 single of 2024 (and the second-longest-running #1 single in a calendar year, trailing only Lil Nas X's 2019 monster "Old Town Road"). That achievement, coupled with his six Grammy nominations, two CMA nods and his appearance on Beyoncé's AOTY-nominated COWBOY CARTER (Parkwood/Columbia), means he's likely not drowning his sorrows in a stein somewhere as his hit would suggest.

SoundExchange has added yet another accolade to his résumé, anointimg him its 2024 Breakout Artist.

“Shaboozey has literally changed the game, marrying hip-hop and country music to create a unique sound that has rocketed him into the consciousness of the mainstream,” enthused SoundExchange President/CEO Michael Huppe. “He’s a prolific creator, unafraid of pairing big, exciting hooks with relatable storytelling and staging memorable live performances. We are proud to present Shaboozey with the SoundExchange Breakout Artist Award, and we can’t wait to see what he does next.”

"A Bar Song (Tipsy)" appears on the Range-repped artist's third album, Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going (American Dogwood/EMPIRE). It earned him the distinction of being the first Black artist to simultaneously top not only the Hot Country Songs chart but the Hot 100.

Shaboozey will headline the "Thanksgiving Halftime Show" at the Detroit Lions’ annual holiday football game, airing 11/28 on CBS. His North American tour wraps 12/16 in Philly and will be followed by a 2025 trek kicking off 1/18 at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry House. See dates here while we get a little tipsy ourselves. 'Tis the season!
