STING, SHAGGY TO CELEBRATE CHERRYTREE'S 20TH

The Cherrytree Music Company will celebrate its 20th anniversary on 1/25 with a big ol' concert at L.A.’s Belasco Theater, featuring Sting, Shaggy, Mike Eizinger of Incubus, Sophie Grey and Chance Emerson, who recently received BMI’s John Lennon Award.

If you choose to believe the poster, there will also be "special surprises," which happen to be our favorite kind of surprises.

The gathering will give founder Martin Kierszenbaum and his hefty guest list a chance to look back and toast a wide array of successes, dating back to the 2005 release of the label’s first album, Feist’s Let It Die. Net proceeds from the event will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

In the intervening years, Cherrytree has sold more than 50, albums and notched five #1 singles, while expanding into management and publishing, securing sync wins like Apple campaigns with Feist and The Fratellis, Super Bowl ads featuring Shaggy and LMFAO and film and TV licensing for songs by LaRoux and Ivy Levan.

Kierszenbaum, a songwriter, musician and producer in his own right, has aided a number of acts on the creative end as well, notching Grammy nominations for writing and production on Lady Gaga’s The Fame and Sting and Shaggy’s expectation-defying collaborative 44/876 album. He looks forward to sending Simon's calls to voice mail.
