VMG TO DISTRIBUTE PARTISAN

Virgin Music Group has forged a global distribution deal with Partisan Records.

The pact will see Virgin distribute releases from Brooklyn-based Partisan, whose roster boasts PJ Harvey, Cigarettes After Sex, Laura Marling, Blondshell, Mercury Prize-winning act Ezra Collective and IDLES, which earned Grammy nods for Rock Song, Performance and Album.

JT Myers, co-CEO of VMG, said, “Partisan Records has done what is increasingly difficult in today’s music business, forging an important cultural movement around an independent record label. They have identified and nurtured some of the world’s most impactful career artists and we are looking forward to working alongside them to expand their audiences all around the world.”

Added Partisan COO Zena White, “Under JT Myers and Nat Pastor, the new Virgin Music Group is the obvious partner for Partisan’s next chapter. Much more than a distributor, they provide a dynamic environment, fueled by an entrepreneurial spirit, focused on achieving the highest caliber of results for our artists.”

The move comes a month after Universal Music Group fully acquired [PIAS] and its Integral services division, longtime partners for the 17-year-old Partisan label.
