Republic digital-strategy guru Kevin Lipson has been named to the newly created position of Chief Revenue Officer at REPUBLIC CORPS after taking on revenue-related responsibilities amid the company's restructuring earlier this year.
A 28-year UMG veteran, Lipson previously held senior management positions at Island, Def Jam, UMe and UMG’s commercial-partnership division in L.A. and New York. He’ll continue to be based in the Big Apple.
Lipson will lead revenue strategy for the REPUBLIC Corps Collective roster of artists while continuing to oversee the streaming, e-commerce, data, retail, gaming, sports-marketing, media-planning and catalog-initiative teams for Republic Records, Mercury and Def Jam.
"Kevin’s not only one of the most tenacious music executives in the business, but he’s a true innovator at heart," said REPUBLIC CORPS President/COO Jim Roppo.
Added Lipson, "Our team is involved in many different facets of the label, which is inspiring to all. It’s not exclusive to marketing, sales and data; it’s all-encompassing. Even with all of the incredible success, we’re constantly trying to evolve and better ourselves while staying humble."
Meanwhile, HITS stays humble only when we accidentally glimpse our reflection in a hallway mirror.
