UTA clients made a strong showing in the recent Grammy nominations, with the agency tallying more than 30 mentions in 26 categories. St. Vincent and Chris Brown scored four each, Jacob Collier snagged three and Brandon Lake and Common notched two apiece.
The agency dominated the Best African Music Performance category thanks to nods for Brown, Yemi Alade, Wizkid and Burna Boy. Collier is up for Album of the Year for Djesse Vol. 4 as well as Best Arrangement, Instrumental or Acapella and Best Global Music Performance.
St. Vincent continued her reign in the Rock and Alternative categories, in which she's won three trophies in the past decade. She's up for Best Alternative Music Album for All Born Screaming; "Flea" and "Broken Man" have three nominations among them.
Latin acts Anitta, Bad Bunny, Young Miko, Cimafunk and Carín León all earned nominations, as did hip-hop acts Cardi B, Latto and J. Cole.
UTA reps Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free for film, both nominated for Best Music Video for the former's "Not Like Us" with producers Jack Begert and Jamie Rabineau. In the same category, directors Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia heard their names called for A$AP Rocky’s "Tailor Swif."
Joshua Boone and Brody Grant were nominated for Best Musical Theater Album as principal vocalists on The Outsiders. Jim Gaffigan and Nikki Glaser were recognized in Best Comedy Album.
HITS could not confirm reports that agent Ken Fermaglich has been blaring Creed's "Higher" in celebration for the past several days.
