Coldplay will achieve a new personal best when its Live Nation-promoted Music of the Spheres World Tour visits India next year, as a 1/25 stop at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is shaping up to be the biggest show of the band's career.
WME-represented Chris Martin and company will potentially play in front of 100k people at the cricket field that night as part of what has already become the first rock tour to exceed $1b.
The date is part of a run of January shows in the United Arab Emirates and India, which will be followed in April by a tour of Hong Kong and South Korea. A massive stadium leg in North America begins 5/31 in Stanford, California, with the three-year Music of the Spheres road show to conclude with 10 Wembley Stadium gigs in August and September.
Coldplay's recent Parlophone/Atlantic album, Moon Music, debuted at #1 on the HITS Top 50—its first U.S. chart-topper in 10 years.
If you ask nicely, HITS will sing the piano melody to "Clocks" into your voicemail.
