ISLAND'S UNPRECEDENTED BIG 4 DOUBLE PLAY

The folks at Island are popping a lot of corks in the wake of the Grammy nominations Friday (11/8), which netted the label 17 nods, including an unprecedented twofer in the Big 4.

In addition to making the Best New Artist shortlist, Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter are both in the mix for Album (for The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess and Short n' Sweet, respectively), Record and Song. Chappell’s “Good Luck Babe!” landed in the ROTY and SOTY categories, while Sabrina is a Record contender for “Espresso” and a Song hopeful with “Please, Please, Please.”

This is the first instance in Grammy history of two artists on the same label appearing in all the top-tier categories. We're told that label co-bosses Imran Majid and Justin Eshak (pictured with both stars in this handy .gif) are already out of champagne.

The label's other nominees include Carín León (Socios Music LLC/Virgin Music Group/Island), Bob Marley and Brittany Howard.
