COLDPLAY'S SPHERES TOUR GROWS AGAIN

As Coldplay jockeys for #1 on this week's HITS Top 50, the group has added 2025 North American dates to its massive Music of the Spheres Tour, beginning 5/31 in Stanford, California.

Coldplay will be making its live debut in El Paso, Texas, Denver, Las Vegas, Nashville and Madison, Wisconsin, where its show at Camp Randall Stadium will be the first held there in 28 years.

The Chris Martin-led band (WME) has already sold a record-breaking 10m tickets since the Live Nation-promoted trek launched in March 2022. It recently announced 10 other gigs next year in Abu Dhabi, Mumbai, Seoul and Hong Kong. Mumbai!

The tour has already encompassed 164 shows and, even with its outsized production costs, is grossing approximately $6.5m per night. By the time it winds down 9/8 after 10 shows at London's Wembley Stadium, it will have been running for more than three years, putting it in the company of Elton John's Farewell Yellow Brick Road and Ed Sheeran's ÷ as the longest tours of all time.

Coldplay has been on a promo blitz behind Moon Music (Atlantic), which is on track to post big opening-week numbers on the HITS Top 50 and the Official U.K. Album Chart.

The group performed over the weekend on Saturday Night Live and squeezed into the 650-seat Music Hall of Williamsburg in New York last night (10/7) for a SiriusXM live broadcast.

HITS, meanwhile, spent the evening badly playing the opening of "Clocks" on our kazoo.
