UPDATE: The Weeknd continues to preview material from Hurry Up Tomorrow, his upcoming XO/Republic LP, with the release of the Playboi Carti-enhanced "Timeless," which collected more than 6m U.S. streams on its first day of release, suggesting full-week streams in the 20-25m range.
"Timeless" debuted on Spotify on 9/27, entering at #2 globally with 10m+ streams—the most daily streams ever for both The Weeknd and Carti. It also opened at #1 on both the Apple Music and Spotify U.S. charts and continues to hold both positions as of 9/28.
Produced by Pharrell Williams, "Timeless" follows "Popular," The Weeknd and Carti's collaboration with Madonna, released in 2023 as part of the soundtrack to The Idol.
Hurry Up Tomorrow, which also boasts the recent single "Dancing in the Flames," will complete a trilogy that includes the chart-topping After Hours (2020) and Dawn FM (2022). No release date has been confirmed just yet.
The Weeknd is managed by SALXCO's Wassim "Sal" Slaiby and YCFU's Amir "Cash" Esmailian, and is booked by CAA.
For Carti, "Timeless" arrives on the heels of "ALL RED," the first single from his long-in-the-works AWGE/Interscope album MUSIC. The cut is #20 at Spotify U.S.
Now, please excuse us as we save our tears for another day.
