U2 DROPS REVAMPED ATOMIC BOMB

U2 is bringing out the heavy artillery for a multi-pronged campaign marking the 20th anniversary of the 2004 album How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.

Interscope will salute the occasion with an expanded reissue of the original album, arriving 11/22, and a 10-track, archival "shadow album" of unreleased songs, titled How To Re-Assemble an Atomic Bomb, as a physical stand-alone for Record Store Day Black Friday, 11/29. A digital version of both projects will also be available.

“The sessions for How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb were such a creative period for the band," said U2 guitarist The Edge. "We were inspired to revisit our early music influences, and it was a time of deep personal introspection for Bono, who was attempting to process—dismantle—the death of his father. What you’re getting on this shadow album is that raw energy of discovery, the visceral impact of the music, a sonic narrative, a moment in time. This is the pure U2 drop.”

Two Re-Assemble cuts are out now: "Country Mile" and "Picture of You (X+W)."

While we wait for the full set to touch down, HITS will be Googling how to pronounce "catorce."
