The Sabrina Carpenter rocket ship launched anew 9/23 at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, as the Island pop starlet began her Short n' Sweet Tour with live debuts of eight songs from her smash album of the same name.
Among them were "Bed Chem," "Coincidence," "Lie to Girls" and "Don't Smile." "Espresso" was saved for the encore, of course, while a cover of ABBA's "Mamma Mia" served as the nightly "spin the bottle" selection from a list of oldies but goodies.
Traversing a multifaceted set meant to mimic the interior of a glamorous apartment (complete with spiral staircase), Carpenter showed off a number of outfits, including a pink corset, a blue miniskirt and a black lace jumpsuit/lingerie combo.
“Sabrina is someone who can be both popular and important. There aren’t a lot of artists who have that opportunity," Island Co-Head Justin Eshak recently told HITS of the artist, who's booked by CAA’s Mario Tirado and Marlene Tsuchii and managed by Janelle Lopez Genzink for Volara Management.
The sold-out AEG-promoted trek continues to Toronto and Detroit this week before arriving Sunday at New York's Madison Square Garden. It wraps 11/17-18 at the Forum in Los Angeles.
