BMAC's STIGGERS SET FOR "VISIONARY" SESAC HONOR

Ahead of the Black Music Action Coalition's fourth annual gala on 9/19 at The Beverly Hilton, Co-Founder/President and CEO Willie "Prophet" Stiggers (pictured) will receive the Visionary Award during the 9/17 SESAC Awards at The Highlight Room.

"On behalf of the Black Music Action Coalition and our ongoing work to champion artists and create equity, we are grateful for the acknowledgement and opportunity to shine a light on a steadfast commitment for systemic change in music," Stiggers said of the award.

"His work and dedication to equality and racial justice has inspired us all to do more and build a stronger, more equitable creative community," SESAC PRO VP/Creative Services Mario Prins remarked of Stiggers. Added SESAC PRO CCO Sam Kling, "As led by Prophet, BMAC’s mission and advocacy work across the music industry means standing for fairness, equity and belief in the transformative power of music.

At the BMAC gala, LL COOL J will receive the Clarence Avant Trailblazer Award, while USHER will be honored with the Quincy Jones Humanitarian Award. Public Enemy's Flavor Flav and Gunna are among the special guests.

The event aims to celebrate people and organizations who've aided BMAC’s mission of furthering racial equity and economic justice.
