Not only have the Swifties mobilized for Kamala Harris, but the BeyHive appears to be rallying behind the veep, too. After Harris began using Beyoncé's 2016 single "Freedom" f/Kendrick Lamar for her presidential campaign in July, the song saw a huge surge in popularity. It's now Shazam's Biggest Mover of the week.
Taken from the album Lemonade (Parkwood/Columbia), the track contains the lyrics, "Freedom! Freedom! I can’t move/ Freedom, cut me loose!," an appropriate battle cry for the impending election.
In the #2 spot is "You Only Get What You Give" by the New Radicals. That 1998 single got some help from the Dems earlier this month when Second Gentleman of the United States Doug Emhoff used it as his entrance song at the Democratic National Convention.
The single "Taste," by Sabrina Carpenter, whose highly anticipated Short n' Sweet arrived on Island 8/23, lands at #3. The track was accompanied by a Death Becomes Her-themed video starring Wednesday actress Jenna Ortega that has already racked up more than 33m YouTube views.
Respectively rounding out the Top 5 are Don Toliver's "NEW DROP" (Cactus Jack) and Cash Cobain's "problem" f/Laila! (Giant Music). In the words of Porky Pig, "That's all, folks!"
