MERCURY PRIZE CEREMONY SET FOR ABBEY ROAD

This year’s Mercury Music Prize ceremony will encompass a live TV program to be filmed at no less than London’s Abbey Road Studios. The proceedings have previously been staged at the Eventim Apollo.

Mercury Prize 2024: Album of the Year will be shown 9/5 on BBC Four at 8-9:15pm GMT. BBC Radio 6 Music will also air the program. The winner will being announced live around 9pm.

Meanwhile, BBC Sounds will offer presenter Matt Everitt’s Pocket Guides to all 12 albums, as well as playlists, archival interviews and deep cuts.

Debuts dominate the slate, including sets by Portishead's Beth Gibbons, Cat Burns and BERWYN. Peruse the full list of nominees here.
