Maxie Solters, publicist, writer, actor, producer and lifelong member of our extended family died suddenly on 8/15 after a brief illness. She was 37.
Raised in Sherman Oaks, California, Maxie graduated from USC with a B.A. in Theatre. She began her career in casting while also serving as a coordinator for nonprofit One Billion Rising. She appeared in numerous productions and starred in her own comedy web series. She was also a voting member of the Screen Actors Guild.
In 2012 Maxie followed in the footsteps of her father, Larry Solters, and her grandfather Lee Solters by becoming a publicist. As part of the Scoop Marketing team, she worked with clients like the KIA Forum, the Hollywood Bowl and Music Forward.
Solters is survived by her father and his partner, Carol Greenhut, mother Debra Graff, aunt Susan Reynolds, cousin Jonah Reynolds and longtime partner Dim Dobrin.
A celebration of Maxie's life is in the works. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to One Billion Rising.
