Avex reeled in a VIP crowd last month at its Avex House event in West Hollywood, where attendees nibbled on fresh fish and the finest Wagyu beef flown in from Japan in honor of the evening's special guests, on-the-rise Japanese boy band ONE OR EIGHT.
Getting in early on the action were guests from Spotify, KIIS FM/iHeart Media, UTA and dick clark productions, plus new S10 Management signee Big Sean, S10 founder/CEO Brandon Silverstein and Avex execs Max Matsuura and Takeya Ino.
Avex/S10 publishing client Kavi, the producer behind Tommy Richman's smash "MILLION DOLLAR BABY," served as DJ, and Richman and his crew dropped by to lend support.
ONE OR EIGHT took the stage to play two songs, including the octet's 8/16 single "Don't Tell Nobody," and the crowd was grooving to its rap-tinged, dance-forward pop chops.
NEO, YUGA, TAKERU, SOUMA, REIA, MIZUKI, TSUBASA and RYOTA capped their L.A. visit with a writing camp at Avex House Studios, where they put pen to paper with Kavi, HARV, Roy Lenzo and Alex Bilowitz.
Pictured above with ONE OR EIGHT are Matsuura, Big Sean, Spotify Global Head of Editorial Sulinna Ong, 102.7 KIIS FM PD Beata Murphy, Silverstein and Ino. Not pictured is Avex USA CEO Naoki Osada, who knew better than to end his career by appearing in HITS.
