Aerosmith announced on 8/2 that due to lead singer Steven Tyler's vocal injury, the band will "retire from the touring stage."
In September 2023, CBS News reported Tyler as saying, "I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday's show that led to subsequent bleeding."
The news of the band's live retirement came as the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees were on the third date of their 2023 farewell trek, Peace Out... Farewell Tour, when the band was forced to postpone the remainder of the tour. Friday's announcement officially canceled the remaining dates.

It was 1970 when a spark of inspiration became Aerosmith. Thanks to you, our Blue Army, that spark caught flame and has been burning for over five decades. Some of you have been with us since the beginning and all of you are the reason we made rock ‘n’ roll history.
