SHAKIRA SCORES AT COPA AMERICA, SHEERAN SELLS OUT

GOOOOAL: Sony Latin’s Shakira returned to the spotlight for a special appearance last night (7/14) at the Copa America final between Argentina and Colombia. Shak took over Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium for nearly eight minutes as part of the tournament’s first halftime performance and gave the capacity crowd something to cheer for after 45 minutes of scoreless football.

The WME-repped Colombian star also offered a glimpse of what to expect when she commences her Live Nation-produced Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran Tour 11/17 in Palm Springs.

The erstwhile Super Bowl Halftime Show co-headliner performed “Hips Don’t Lie,” “TQG” and recent single “Punteria,” which features Cardi B. With Latin Grammy season starting with first-round voting on 7/24, expect Shakira, who was last year’s Song of the Year winner alongside Bizarrap, to be a frontrunner across the board thanks to March's Las Mujeres.

The Copa America final aired on Fox in the U.S. and was broadcast to 192 countries via 43 media outlets.

NUMBER CRUNCHING: Having visited North America, Asia and Europe, Ed Sheeran's Mathematics Tour will conclude next year with another run of European arena and stadium shows, from May to September. The troubadour sold 600,000 tickets in an hour last week during the initial on-sale, prompting the addition of several additional gigs in Germany, Norway, Belgium, Sweden and Denmark. The trek is now scheduled to end 9/6 in Dusseldorf.

The Mathematics outing was assembled by Sheeran’s longtime promoter, Stuart Galbraith of KMJ Entertainment, and booking agent, Jon Ollier of One Finnex Live.

The announcement came on the heels of last-minute cancellations by Flo Milli (UTA), Veeze (WME), Tyla (UTA) and Digga D.

“So will I get my money back since I’ve paid for a full day on Sunday as opposed to two of the better acts being taken away so I can watch football for a team I don’t support?” questioned one attendee on X. Despite some disappointment, fans still frolicked in large numbers throughout the weekend amid performances by headliners Nicki Minaj (WME), Ice Spice (WME) and Doja Cat (CAA).
